Cancellation & Refund Policy

Short version: the professional you book decides their refund terms and issues refunds; the money goes back to how you paid, usually within 5 to 7 working days.

Last updated

Plain language, on purpose. This document describes what Merryhive actually does — the data it stores, the services it shares that data with, and how money moves through it. If anything here is unclear, or seems to differ from what the product does, tell us and we will fix whichever one is wrong.

Merryhive is early software, and both documents will change as it does. The date above tells you which version you are reading.

Who decides a refund

Merryhive is a booking and payments tool. The session you book is provided by the professional you book with (the host), and the host sets their own cancellation and refund terms, normally stated in the meeting description on their booking page. When you want a refund for a session, ask the host first: their email address is in your booking confirmation.

Payments go to the host’s own Razorpay account, and refunds are sent from it by the host, from their Merryhive dashboard. No guest can trigger one, which protects both sides from mistakes and misuse. The one exception: if you paid but your booking could not be made — usually because the time was taken while you were paying — you are refunded in full automatically, and told so straight away.

Cancelling a booking

Every confirmation email contains a link to cancel or reschedule. Cancelling frees the time for someone else. Cancelling a paid booking does not by itself return the money; whether it is refunded, in full or in part, follows the host’s terms, and the host issues it.

If the host cancels a paid session and does not offer another time, you are entitled to a full refund. If a host does not issue it, contact us (below) and we will follow it up.

How a refund reaches you

  • Refunds go back to the original payment method (UPI, card or netbanking) through Razorpay.
  • They can be full or partial, and a partial refund leaves the rest refundable later.
  • Once issued, Razorpay usually credits it within 5 to 7 working days; the exact time depends on your bank.
  • You receive an email when a refund is issued.

Session packages

If you bought a package of sessions, the sessions you have not used can be refunded by the host in proportion to what you paid: for example, two unused sessions of a four-session package return half the price. Sessions already held are not refunded. While a refund is being processed the package is paused, so a session cannot be booked against money that is on its way back to you.

Merryhive's own fees

Merryhive is free during early access: no subscription and no commission, so there is nothing of ours to cancel or refund. See the pricing page and our Terms.

If something goes wrong

If a host did not turn up, or you cannot reach them about a refund, write to hello@merryhive.com with your booking reference (it is in your confirmation email). We will contact the host and help you resolve it. Contact details for Merryhive are on the contact page.
